Sarah Fedorchick is an artist, born and raised in Westchester County, New York. She graduated Adelphi University in May 2015, with a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts), and a minor in art history. She grew up being influenced by all forms of art due to her parents being owners of a framing store and art gallery.
At Adelphi University, not only was Sarah a focused student and artist, she was also the proud member of Delta Delta Delta. Due to her creativity, Sarah often did many crafts with sorority sisters and painted banners for when recruitment season came around. She held two vice president positions over three years that let her love for social media flourish and her organizational skills show through.
Sarah's artwork exerts her humorous personality. Not only are her works usually lighthearted and funny, but they're very thought out and planned. She usually works from life and creates her own still life's to work from.
In her senior thesis work, Sarah became fascinated with the distortion that rain and snow created on the windshield of cars. It's that moment in time right before the windshield wipers come across the field of vision to clear the view that made her interested in painting those moments. She captured that moment in time, that will never be the same again. Her medium of choice is gouache acrylic paint. Sarah loves how quickly the paint dries and in a way, that can relate to the moment in time that she wants to capture in her paintings.
Sarah was fortunate enough to have studied abroad to Florence, Italy (Summer 2013) to study art history. She, her peers and professors, traveled the city by going to museums, churches, gelatorias, and restaurants, to soak in the Italian art and culture. This was one of the best experiences of her life and she'd give anything to go back soon!
Since undergrad, Sarah has also received her Masters in Art Education and is pursuing her lifelong dream of being an art teacher. She is currently teaching elementary art and loves every single second of it. During her free time, she has started an Etsy page to sell some of her crafts and digital artwork, is continuing to create her own art and exhibiting her work when she can! She has had a solo show, participates in her towns arts festival, and also curated her first group show at Larchmont Art Gallery with several of Adelphi's art alumni.
Stay tuned (follow her on instagram (and Etsy) so you know what's going on) and thank you for visiting! :)
